๐ŸŒŸ MEET NEW ARTIST ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŒŸ
Slang Print celebrates the humour, character and colourful language that has shaped generations of Australians. Each postcard brings nostalgic Australian expressions to life through traditional printmaking techniques.

Using hand set vintage wooden type and letterpress printing on the front, paired with a hand pulled screenprinted reverse, every postcard has a wonderfully tactile, handmade quality. Printed in small, limited editions on 210gsm Sirio Milkshake paper, these pieces preserve familiar sayings while celebrating the beauty of ink, paper and traditional craftsmanship.

Jess Adaine
๐ŸŒŸ

Jess is a self taught artist born and raised in Fremantle, with a deep connection to the ocean and the wild beauty of approaching storms. The power of the sea, dramatic skies and changing light continue to shape her artistic world.

Her work has an intense, melancholic quality, with stormy oceans, expressive eyes and portraits featuring throughout her practice. Working mainly in watercolour, gouache and acrylic, Jess is also exploring the traditional medium of egg tempera as she continues to develop her style.

๐ŸŒŸ MEET NEW ARTIST ๐ŸŒŸ
Timeless Botanicals and Gifts
๐ŸŒŸ
Working from a home studio in Karrinyup, Anna transforms once-loved pots, jars and ceramic vessels into beautifully textured, modern rustic pieces. Every vessel is individually handcrafted, giving forgotten objects a new story and purpose.

Inspired by the Wabi-sabi philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection, each piece is carefully layered and finished using a signature texturing technique developed through months of experimentation. No two vessels are ever the same, each one full of quiet character and timeless appeal.

Congratulations to Amanda Forward Studio a.f
A huge congratulations to Geraldtonโ€‘based artist Amanda Forward on winning the Portraits Award at the prestigious Cossack Art Awards. Her winning oil painting, The Shapes We Keep, is a powerful exploration of generational inheritance and identity โ€” a beautifully considered work now recognised at one of Australiaโ€™s most significant regional art prizes.

Amanda is a highly accomplished, selfโ€‘taught painter whose practice spans oil on canvas, ceramics, and film. Working from her studio gallery in Geraldton, she continues to push her craft with depth, emotion, and technical mastery. In addition to this yearโ€™s win, she was awarded a Highly Commended honour at the Cossack Art Awards in 2023.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to represent Amanda here at The Artisan Store Fremantle, and to share her work with our community of collectors and art lovers.

โœจ The Cossack Art Awards exhibition is currently running in the Pilbara โ€” a wonderful opportunity to experience her winning piece in person.

A first for the Hale Art Awards โ€” jewellery takes centre stage! Congratulations to Felicity Peters, winner of the 2026 Best Artwork Award for her exquisite Flora Pendant.
Crafted in fine and sterling silver with delicate enamel highlights, Felicityโ€™s piece captures the beauty of Western Australian flora โ€” passionfruit tendrils, gum nuts, and seed pods โ€” with remarkable sophistication and curiosity.
The judges praised her work for its distinctive Western Australian character and masterful handling of materials. A well-deserved recognition for one of WAโ€™s most accomplished jewellers.
โœจ Awarded at Hale Exhibition Opening Night, Friday 7 June 2026.

๐ŸŽจ Did you know this about Ben?

๐ŸŒŠBefore he was known for his incredible Western Australian landscapes, artist Ben Sherar sent a collection of dragon paintings to a major publisher at age 11โ€”fully expecting to be hired on the spot! From his childhood roots drawing on the floor in Kununurra to setting up his studio inside the historic Fremantle Town Hall, Ben's journey as a self-taught oil painter is full of fascinating twists.
Oh, and if he wasn't holding a paintbrush, he might just be a wealthy property developer shopping for yachtsโ€”but his love for the smell of oil paint changed everything!
We sat down with "Mr. Fremantle" himself to dive deep into his creative process, his wild plein-air adventures, and his secret obsession with backyard aquaponics.

Collectors offer coming soon!
