Dirty Janes Vintage Emporium in Canberra has rented me a wonderful big extra room down the back of the Emporium — so I ‘ve been down in Canberra all week setting up the Owl and the Pussycat’s “A Vintage Christmas”.

The large Christmas tree feature arrived from Sydney minus its base and top. Not to be deterred I ordered a new pre-lit 9ft Christmas tree from Amazon (sorry, I was desperate) with a 2-day delivery window. Naturally, it didn’t arrive and tracking changed to say it would now arrive on October 15. Again, not to be deterred, I put up some paintings in the tree’s assigned space and came home. Alas, as Murphy’s law has dictated, it then arrived the next day! It will be set up, complete with twinkling lights, in a fortnight when I next go down to Canberra — along with the other 2-3 boxes of Royal Doulton and Royal Albert tree ornaments which have also disappeared in the void known as my garage!

I know it is very early to be putting up Christmas decorations, but finding vintage glass ornaments and other retro decorations is a year long effort and people love a cute little Christmas nook at any time of year.

Lovely post put up today by Dirty Janes Vintage Emporium in Canberra, where I have my 6 antiques spaces/stores. The staff are so friendly and helpful, They do a wonderful job making a visit to Dirty Janes is a real walk down memory lane.

This is what happens when you find an amazing estate sale of Royal Doulton figurines. So you put bids in on 20 lots of 3 figurines - thinking you will be very lucky to win 2 — then you win 16 lots! I love them but my Doulton shelves are already full! First world problems.
