Unfortunately, we were greeted with an unplanned outage this morning that looks like it will take a few hours to sort. Am contemplating opening for torchlight trading... Is that a crazy idea? Also please hurry up and buy all the pies from next door while they are still warm.

They're not making this easy for us. Making an already quiet day even more quiet. They have blocked off one entrance to the parking lot, but we are still open today until 5:00 pm and closed all day Sunday. 🥺

We will be closed this Sunday 29/03/26 due to Evoenergy doing what must be some pretty serious maintenance on the local electricity infrastructure, which will require them to cut power to Fyshwick Plaza for almost the entire day. Apologies for the inconvenience.

In other news, we recently acquired a collection of Jack the Ripper, JFK and Sherlock Holmes related books, which we are feeding out on to the shelves as fast as possible, but there are quite a lot of them. If you know anyone who may be interested, send them our way. Some of these titles don't turn up very often.

Finally watched Notting Hill last night! Now if you all would be so kind as to repeat the last quarter century of Notting Hill/bookshop jokes and references that went completely over my head at the time, I will finally appreciate their crispy aptness. 😆

We are open today only until 2 pm, but will reopen the day after boxing day.

I might take this moment to thank you all for your support throughout the year. The decidedly old-fashioned exchange of pelf for pages continues to be a soothingly win-win arrangement.

We know we are blessed with an assuredly above-par clique of discerning clientele and we appreciate your repeat custom and warmly benevolent presence very much. We might be terrible with names, but it always warms our heart to see your familiar faces.

Our family wishes you all a comforting Christmas and a fortunate New Year.

Just a note to let you know we will be open our usual hours this Monday (provided I don't again accidentally set my alarm clock out by 12 hours like I somehow managed last night after changing the time for daylight savings...🤦🏼).

Well, there's something you don't see everyday. The writing is rather hard to read, but it appears to be a letter from one of the three Misses Drury, young chums of Lewis Carroll, describing their first meeting on a train that Carroll also described in the poem on the left.
