ONLINE BOOKINGS NOW AVAILABLE!

Due to demand, we are now operating as a bookings only service. Thanks to the support of our community and clientele, our conservators are now fully booked with treatments until April. To support our team with workflow and to ensure our customers are met with available staff, we have decided to make this change to a bookings only service. We are still welcoming intakes of new work and are happy to discuss the ongoing care of your objects, including the little things you can do in the meantime and the supplies available in our shopfront.

Please go to our website and use the booking form if you would like to intake an object or collection for our conservators to assess. You can also book a one-on-one meeting with a conservator or book a time to collect your work.

Our intake fees have not changed but have been applied at the time of booking and are subject to change depending on the circumstances at the time of your appointment. If you have any questions or would prefer to speak to a staff member to book please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us either over the phone or via email.

Please do not fix things yourself with super glue and THEN bring it to us... It always takes so much longer and costs more for us to reverse a superglue repair. ALSO Super glue has CYNIDE in it so do not fix food containing pots cups children's toys with it!
Professional MEANS we know the chemical composition of the adhesive the temperature tolerance the aging properties the melting point etc etc etc.. we do not just grab something from the hardware. WE KNOW what will work and will get the best job.

Also a ceramic repair has to be put together in the reverse order to the break shattering. OR that last piece wont fit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ITCNjYGs3o&ab_channel=DutchHPfan1992

HAPPY NEW YEAR. Sadly I feel I need to post this message and ask our lovely followers, help us get the word out.

We are FINE ART CONSERVATORS, with chemistry degrees in art and material science!!!! We each have over 12 years university/trade training.... we have decades of experience and we work on priceless artifacts, we all have international experience and are published leaders in our fields. We continue to take in work from around the country and from overseas. We teach and consult internationally through Asia and the Pacific.

WE ARE NOT A REPAIR CAFE. Please do not be shocked if your lamp takes a while to quote or is expensive... We would rather not do household goods at all (hence the intake fee as a deterrent) .. We can, but we would rather use our extensive skills on art and sculpture and items of serious sentimental worth.

We also prioritise the items of people who are dying, who have had a house fire or flood and items which are wet on arrival. PLEASE adjust your empathy scale accordingly!

Art requires triaging like any other patient and we prefer a good job that will last decades and meet the highest code of practice used by the greatest institutions around the world.

We bill for our time and there is often a wait. If we take on more staff, we have to charge more... Having such skills locally in Canberra is a privilege. We are regularly asked to move overseas.

So please be patient and remain courteous to my staff or we just wont bother working on your item at all. Saying "we will not be in business long", just means you have no idea what we do, you don't value our skills and YOU are in the wrong place.

We are under high demand and I will not tolerate people being rude to any of my team in 2024. Expect to be asked to leave.

To the rest of our really lovely clients and friends, it is a continuing honour to serve the people of Canberra and we look forward to working with you in 2024.

We will be closed as of Thursday 21st December and reopening on Tuesday 2nd January. Thank you to all of our clients, fr...

Leading into the holiday and summer period, are you and your family prepared? We may be facing a very hot and dry summer compared to previous years or you may be able to finally take that long vacation you’ve been waiting for. But have you considered safe storage of valuables or are you prepared in the event of a disaster?

At Endangered Heritage we want to ensure all of our clients are prepared and know what to do in the event of a fire, flood or theft. For example, if you are living in a bushfire risk area or will be travelling we offer climate controlled secure storage to clients for $120 + GST per month (variable on storage size requirements). We also have a range of resources and workshops available to support community in disaster preparedness and recovery. While being prepared is key, having a good recovery plan is the next step moving forward.

Should disaster happen, don’t panic. Just give us a call so our team of conservators can guide and support you in your time of need.
