I'm trying out something different today - using upholstery samples to make a patchwork tote. The fabric itself is thick, meaning the patchwork can't be too complicated, but I couldn't help but give it a go with these summery gelati colours 😍

What can I say? Sometimes you choose the fabric to fit the sewing project, sometimes the fabric picks itself.

It's bucketing rain outside, but all these upcycled pieces have definite summer vibes - nature colours, saturated summer carnival brights, childhood icrecream treats.

BTS secret: when this goes up I'll be at an annual AFL grand final day catch-up with friends, bopping to Kylie and not concentrating much on the game 😁

Yesterday's sewing session came to a grinding halt when I realised I didn't have matching thread for the brown fabric - AFTER cutting the pouch linings and making the tape for the tabs. That explains why it was still in my stash!

So I bought thread this morning, plus some end of bolt remnants because PRETTIES. You'll see those eventually.

And I *may* have put something on layby because I have ideas that must be realised without further injury to hands.

So, yeah, the thread was expensive. But worth it!

I'm still making my way (🎵 Makin my way... 🎵 get it) through some donated upholstery fabric samples and creating stock for upcoming markets.

Market stockmake, instead of stocktake, maybe?

Anyhoo, these samples are the perfect size for Notebook Pencil Cases - the type with elastic that you secure around your notebook, suduko or crossword book so you always have a pen with it. I'm down to my last one online, and will soon have 15/50 done. Huzzah! Saving the planet one fabric sample at a time... 😁

Creating and scheduling posts now so I don't forget in a couple of weeks! It's something I can work on away from home, and I'll save these tasks for when I have some downtime on the go.

There's a lot of markets scheduled before the end of the year. And a lot of making going on BTS 😊

A stack of markets that were scheduled today across southern Victoria have been cancelled - and with good reason. When the wind is already high, a sudden gust can turn gazebos, tables and other objects into hazards. Safety first!
