Soft Case by Scot

Soft Case by Scot Australian Design and Handmade by me. The idea started when I was swapping my specs to sunnies and realised I needed something more simple and less fiddly.

Soft Case by Scot was born. No buttons, clips, zips or string and definitely not an awkward box!

Had to say something!! If you know me you know I love a chat and laugh session. Last Saturday at Melbourne Cheeky Monkey Market in Bacchus Marsh a lady came by with a trolley and her young daughter holding hands. Jemima - the rag doll - had bern placed in the trolley along with a good nights worth of alcohol in the seat with her. I had to stop her and say
“Wow! Dolly is up for a big night!!”
The lady laughed so hard and hadn’t thought of the fact that it looks kinda funny.
Her laughter set me off also. I took a photo to share the moment to my socials.
Hope you enjoyed it. 🤣👬🏼👓🕶️🛒🍻🍾

I started Retro Pop Homewares in 2009 after deciding that being a Hairdresser just wasn’t for me. I used a lot of rockabilly fabrics and reignited my love for sewing from my early teens. I created fun Cushions, Oven Mitts, Aprons, Toilet Roll Holders and Tissue Box Covers and threw myself into the market scene.

In 2017 I created Soft Case by Scot - for Prescription Glasses and Sunglasses because I’d had so many glasses cases that were clunky or fiddly and I couldn’t stand them. I made one for myself, no buttons, clips, zips, hinges or strings. I thought about padding, corduroy lining because it has a grip and I LOVE corduroy. An hourglass design would also hold the glasses inside. A lady saw me use it at the market and asked for me to make her some for the following week. I made 15 and they all sold in a few hours. The rest is history.

Now my little case is stocked in 36 optometrists in Australia, 2 in New Zealand and some Specialty gift stores. I’ve made over 10,000 of them with my own two hands. So many people own one of my cases, using them everyday. Not a market goes by without someone pulling out their Soft Case by Scot to show me…..and telling me how much they love it for so many reasons. I’m very proud of myself. A guy from Melton with CPTSD creating my own life I felt comfortable in. Thank you for all the support over the years. I so appreciate it 😘

Went to see Eclipse in Bloom by LASERVISION at the Botanic Gardens Geelong last night with Jason, Georgie from Georgie Rose and her kids. It was really great and left us feeling like we’d been in a mystical dream. Definitely recommend 👍🏼👬🏼

Today we spent the day at the Daylesford Sunday Market and had a great day even though it was -1 degree when we arrived. Never been there before. We’re in a phase of trying new markets and it gets us out to explore life a bit more. 🚂👓🕶️👬🏼
