❄️ Just because it’s cooler doesn’t mean you can skip the water! Staying hydrated in winter is just as important as in summer. 💧

Dry air, indoor heating, and chilly winds can sneakily dehydrate you. Keep a water bottle handy, enjoy herbal teas, and look after your skin from the inside out.

Your body (and mind!) will thank you. 🫖💙

🩸 World Blood Donor Day – 14 June 2026

Every day, lives are saved not by superheroes in capes, but by everyday people who choose to donate blood. On World Blood Donor Day, we recognise and thank these incredible individuals whose generosity helps patients when they need it most.

Donating blood is a simple act that can have a life-changing impact. A single donation can help people facing serious illness, complications during childbirth, major surgery, trauma from accidents, and many other medical situations where blood transfusions are vital.

A reliable supply of safe blood is essential for a strong healthcare system. Regular donations help ensure hospitals have the blood products they need to provide lifesaving care to the community.

Today we celebrate and thank all blood donors for their selfless contribution. ❤️
If you’ve ever thought about donating, World Blood Donor Day is the perfect reminder that one small act can make a big difference.

🔥 National Burns Awareness Month – June 2026

June is National Burns Awareness Month, an initiative of Kidsafe Australia aimed at helping Australians understand how to prevent burns and respond quickly with the correct first aid.

During winter, the risk of burns increases as we use heaters, hot water, cooking appliances, and hot drinks more often — especially around children.

🔥 Did you know?
Burns can happen in seconds, but quick first aid can make a big difference in reducing injury and improving recovery.

💧 Remember the simple first aid rule for burns:
Cool the burn under cool running water for 20 minutes.
Then cover loosely with a clean dressing and seek medical advice if needed.
✔ Keep hot drinks out of children’s reach
✔ Turn pot handles inward when cooking
✔ Test bath water temperature before use
✔ Keep heaters and hot surfaces safely guarded

Our pharmacy team is always here to help with first aid advice, burn care products, and health support for your family this winter.

Stay safe this winter and help spread awareness. ❄️🧯

🩸 World Haemochromatosis Week June 1–7

Haemochromatosis is the most common genetic disorder in Australia, affecting around 1 in 200 people.

When the body stores too much iron, it can lead to serious health problems over time — but early detection makes it manageable.
✔️ A simple blood test can help diagnose it
✔️ Early treatment can prevent complications

If you’re concerned, ask your doctor about testing for iron overload.
