Geraldton historian Stan Gratte OAM has released an amended and updated edition of his much-loved book, A Boy and the War – Geraldton in World War II.

As a young boy during the war, Stan took up photography and began recording life in Geraldton as a garrison town. His remarkable images and memories capture a unique period in our local history.

I don't know if anyone is able to drive by the wonderful old buildings that are Geraldton Primary School, without wondering what has gone on inside over the many many years that it has been standing. Or maybe you attended the school and reminisce of your time there.

Geraldton’s Railway History by an Old Engine Driver 🚂

Written about our Northern Railways from an Engine Drivers point of view. It includes names of 40 Horse Teamsters from 1890 and the railway employees’ names from 1879 to 1960 totalling 330 people, including the 24 killed on duty. Perhaps you will find a relative in one of these lists?
