See that number 99 for Central District? That means we are one point off being declared a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating locally today.

🚨 Today’s weather forecast is the worst fire conditions we have had locally since Black Saturday. 🚨

Crews are already responding to smoke from overnight lightning strikes in our district.

We need you to take today very seriously.

We know many people have already headed off the mountain, and we applaud them for doing so.

If you haven’t and you are planning on staying PLEASE keep a very close eye on conditions, stay tuned to ABC radio and extend the radius on your VicEmergency app alerts to give yourself the best chance to get out quickly.

Today is definitely the day to have your “go bag” ready with your important documents, medications etc. Have plans in place for how you will bring your pets with you.

You will not receive a personal evacuation order if the worst happens. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to put a post up here on Facebook to tell you to leave.

We are absolutely hoping for the best for today, but in preparing for the worst you are preparing to survive.
