The Tokyo Handcrafted Guitar Festival is over. We had two great days, met lots of great people and saw some fantastic instruments.
Leaving somewhat lighter than we arrived which is always a good thing.
So I can build some more.

A Gladstone Mandolin, Made from Indian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce. A little instrument with a voice that can cut through the noise.

Here's another one we've just finished, a Tenor Ukulele, made from Camphor Laurel with a Sitka Spruce soundboard. Its a please to work with, only takes one cut and the whole workshop smells of Camphor. I love that smell!
And the Figure in the back plates is just gorgeous!

We're all packed and ready!
Here's another instrument we are taking with us, hope they all travel well.
It's a Tenor Ukulele made from Pale Moon Ebony and Engelmann Spruce. What a fantastic Tonewood! Really enjoyed making this!
We have a few more instruments out of this wood that are still on the bench.

Just about packed for Japan, and our time at the Tokyo Hand Crafted Guitar Festival. Here's another one of our Exhibition Instruments.
It's a Tenor Ukulele made from Tasmanian Blackwood and Engelmann Spruce. Some absolutely stunning Tassie Blackwood, very deep fiddle back figure.

We’re off to Japan, for the Tokyo Hand Crafted Guitar Festival.

The National Folk Festival is over for another year. We’ve just finished our 3,600 Kilometre round trip pilgrimage.
