I'll be new at the Armidale Folk Museum next month!

I'm excited to bring the ancient craft of bookbinding to more places in the New England and hope to reach even further in the future. We'll be looking at my two introductory courses - Japanese Stab Binding and Coptic Stitch - for a day full of paper goodness!

Last weekend was another successful Coptic Stitch workshop held at Tinker Art School Toowoomba. Everyone was so lovely and enthusiastic about creating their own lay flat notebooks and despite a learning curve for most, everyone went really well with the decorative braided stitch!

I was keen to break out some lokta from my recent paper order because think of all the colour combinations!

New Achievement: I'm now collecting stamps 🍄

Brass tooling pieces for hot foiling are "yikes" pricey... so before i become enough of a success to purchase some I've discovered the craft of stamp and powder embossing! Spent a little time today giving it a go thinking i could use it on the gusto I've made for my wedding only to find out it does not do well on the fibrosis linen bookcloth I used for it..

Excited to learn because I had a problem that these perfectly solve and turned out all into a magnificent plan!

We are delighted to offer a workshop hosted by “Book and Kettle Cottage Crafts“ at the library. Places are strictly limited and participants must be over 16 years old. If you’d like to learn how to create your own notebook with a long stitch folded cover binding call us to book a place. Bookings only accepted in person or via 67288130.
This workshop is being offered free of charge and all materials will be supplied. Participants will need to bring their own light lunch.

This month I've printed my own covers on premium 118gsm Mohawk Paper with the delicate floral design I used in the envelopes of my wedding invitations. The soft blue of the cover and Nepalese lokta end sheets compliments the dusty blue theme that my bridesmaids will wear.

Just a little Highland coo 🐮

My first artist commission created by Mulberry & Twine for The Cottage Notebook Club is this adorable wedding ready Highland cow.

This month's edition is more that just a collection of little things I enjoy. It's inspired by the personal touches that come together create my wedding in just a couple of weeks.

I'm getting married in the lush rolling hills of Cowbell Creek nestled amongst the Gold Coast Hinterlands. A working farm famous for its friendly Highland cow family. I cannot wait to pat those shaggy heads!
