Protect small businesses in SA💪🏼

In what has been and will continue to be one of the toughest years in business, the power imbalance between tenants and landlords needs to be restored to get up to speed with the rest of the country.

As our business had been subject to an unlawful distraint, I understand firsthand the damaging impact that this archaic law has.

We need to do something about this before more small businesses are ruined due to distraint.

Hey guys!

Let’s level the playing field for small business in SA💪🏼 Supporting small business is more than just a slogan - it takes action.

Take action by signing the petition to abolish the archaic and feudal laws that have been abolished everywhere else apart from SA & Tasmania.

I’m a young, Indigenous business woman who recently lost my family business and everything we’ve worked so hard for over the past 17 months due to actions taken by a landlord. This opened my eyes to the unjust laws here in SA for tenants running small businesses who serve the community. Small business owners deserve better treatment than this.

With everything that has happened over the past few days we can now see the greater purpose. Glenelg is built on small business, and moving forward we will stand up for our own rights and everyone around us because we genuinely care about the community that we are lucky to have here.

In the current economic climate it is a difficult time for everyone, especially for the poor, the powerless and the hurting.
