Turok is a Native American warrior who fights dinosaurs. He was originally created by Dell Comics in 1954 as “Turok, Son of Stone,” with his first appearance in Four Color Comics 596. The character later moved to Gold Key Comics, and went out of publication for many years until Valiant Comics bought the license.

Turok was introduced as part of the Valiant Universe in 1992, along with two other Gold Key characters Magnus, Robot Fighter and Solar, Man of the Atom. His Valiant series Turok, Dinosaur Hunter lasted 48 issues until Acclaim Comics rebooted the universe and character in 1996 to better suit their licensed video games. They published several new Turok comics and launched a series of successful Turok games. The license for Turok would later move to Dark Horse Comics and Dynamite Entertainment.

Champions of Norrath: Realms of EverQuest is a 2004 action role-playing video game for the PlayStation 2, set in the EverQuest universe. The game is playable with one single player or cooperative for up to four players, but with a Network Adapter, players can take the game online with others and kill others or join to form groups of adventurers. It uses a re-worked and expanded Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance game engine. A sequel called Champions: Return to Arms was released in 2005.

Champions of Norrath features a traditional role-playing video game storyline, in which the player acts as a hero who must save the world via a series of quests and battles. Divided into five acts, the game begins with a quest to assist the elves in their war against the orcs, who have formed an alliance with goblins (which is strange to the citizens of Norrath). In later acts, the player must eventually travel to the underworld and beyond thanks to the antics created by the strange orc leader and his contacts. The game takes place in the focal world of the EverQuest universe known as Norrath, prior to the events of the first EverQuest online RPG, which was itself prior to “The Shattering” of the moon Luclin. The game applies many elements of the EverQuest universe. There are three main antagonists in the storyline: Pelys, leader of the orcs, Vanarhost, a vampire in the Underworld who also narrates the entire game and Innoruuk, the God of Hatred.

Small Soldiers: Squad Commander is a licensed, 2D, top-down RTS for Microsoft Windows, developed by DreamWorks Interactive and published by Hasbro Interactive in 1998.

The game does not follow the plot of Small Soldiers, instead featuring a unique story in the fictional town of New Bedford. While this should imply that these are different (but the same) toys from the ones that appear in the film, Troglokhan (Freakenstein) has been destroyed and repaired identically to his film counterpart. There are two unique campaigns to play through; Gorgonites and Commando Elite, each with their own units and objective-driven levels, played in order as you make your way across a small town map.

After a view of New Bedford and Kevin’s monologue of the Gorgonites successfully saving the peaceful mining planet Zebragard 4 from the Commando Elite and his mom calling him to get a move on, he drops his toys on a chest. The Gorgonites and the Commando Elite awake in a large room on a chest. Chip Hazard criticizes Archer as weak and cowardly, pulls Archer’s right arm off, and finally assaults him by using Archer’s own right arm, right after Archer informs wisely to Chip Hazard and pushes away from him with the right arm. Archer steals it away and bows before Chip Hazard, jabbing the severed right arm toward Chip Hazard’s chest, and hitting Chip Hazard’s head with the right arm, thus plugging the right arm back into his right shoulder. After the incident both are still arguing but they suddenly both charge at each other, and crash; thus, the player must choose their campaign squad.

Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is a 2001 platform video game developed by Oddworld Inhabitants and originally published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox where it was released as a launch title. It is the third installment in the Oddworld series and the first to not be released initially on a PlayStation console.

Originally announced as a title in development for PlayStation 2, it was instead released exclusively as one of the launch titles for Xbox. While an “Oddboxx” containing the first four Oddworld games was originally intended for a holiday season 2009 release on Steam, the fourth game in the series was not released until December 20, 2010, on Steam, over two years after the first three.

The game received generally positive critical reviews around the time of its release, though retrospective and reviews of the game’s ports have been more mixed to negative.

Dead or Alive 3 is a 2001 fighting game developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo for the Xbox console as one of its launch titles. It is the third main entry in the Dead or Alive fighting series following Dead or Alive 2 (1999). Dead or Alive 3 improved upon the gameplay and graphics in beautiful detail compared to that of its predecessors. The game’s story focuses on DOATEC’s attempt to create the ultimate human weapon through their Omega Project by capturing the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan’s Hajin Mon leader, Genra, and transforming him into an evil superhuman called Omega. The ninjas enter the third Dead or Alive tournament to defeat Omega.

Dead or Alive 3 was critically acclaimed and a commercial success upon release, selling over 1 million units in the first five months after its release, and went on to sell over 2 million units worldwide, becoming the best-selling game in the franchise and one of the top 10 best-selling Xbox games. The game won several awards and was nominated for many others. The European and Japanese versions were released months later, featuring additional content and gameplay updates that are not featured in the North American version.

Dead or Alive 3 later became backwards compatible on Xbox 360 in 2005. In 2021, all versions of Dead or Alive 3 were made available to download from Xbox Live worldwide, and were later made backward compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Dead or Alive 3 was followed by Dead or Alive Ultimate in 2004 and then its sequel Dead or Alive 4 in 2005.

The Simpsons Skateboarding is a sports video game based on the animated sitcom The Simpsons. It was released for the PlayStation 2 in North America on 12 November 2002 and Europe on 6 December 2002. The game was developed by Mass Media and The Code Monkeys and published by Electronic Arts and Fox Interactive. The story and dialogue were written by writers from The Simpsons, with all character voices supplied by the cast. The game received generally negative reviews from critics.

Springfield has been converted into a skate park for the Annual Skate Tour, full of skate-able objects and landmarks from the television series. Players are able to choose one of the nine characters available and complete for the grand prize. All of the characters’ voices were recorded by the actual voice actors from The Simpsons. Each character has over forty unique moves. Players can test their skills in either a two-player head-to-head skate off, or in one of the fast and furious modes: Freeskate, Skate Fest, Trick Contest, and a game of skateboard H-O-R-S-E, unlocking additional characters, locations, and skateboards. Players can also choose to learn all the skateboard moves and tricks before they begin the actual game in the Skillz School mode.

Resident Evil – Code: Veronica is a 2000 survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom for the Dreamcast. It was the first Resident Evil game to debut on a platform other than PlayStation. The story takes place three months after the events of Resident Evil 2 (1998) and the concurrent destruction of Raccoon City as seen in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999). It follows Claire Redfield and her brother Chris Redfield in their efforts to survive a viral outbreak at a remote prison island in the Southern Ocean and a research facility in Antarctica. The game retains the series’ traditional controls and gameplay; however, unlike the pre-rendered backgrounds of previous installments, Code: Veronica uses real-time 3D environments and dynamic camera movement.

Capcom announced Code: Veronica in August 1998 and released it in February 2000 after delays and a reduction in sales expectations due to the struggling Dreamcast platform. Sales were weak compared to other Resident Evil games, but strong compared to other Dreamcast games. Code Veronica received critical acclaim and has been considered among both the best Resident Evil games and Dreamcast games. In 2001, Capcom released an updated version on Dreamcast and PlayStation 2, Code: Veronica X. The revised version included new cutscenes which revealed more details about the story, and it was ported to the GameCube in addition to other platforms in later years. In September 2011, Capcom released a high-definition remastered version of Code: Veronica X for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Code: Veronica was adapted for Capcom’s Gun Survivor series with Resident Evil Survivor 2 – Code: Veronica (2002) and also later adapted for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (2009). A remake, Resident Evil Veronica, is scheduled for release in 2027.

Bio-Booster Armor Guyver (Japanese: 強殖装甲ガイバー, Hepburn: Kyōshoku Sōkō Gaibā) or simply Guyver is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshiki Takaya. The Guyver itself is a symbiotic techno-organic (or biomechanical) device that enhances the capabilities of its host.

The manga was originally serialized in Tokuma Shoten’s Monthly Shōnen Captain, the first appearance being in the February 18 magazine beginning in 1985. When Shōnen Captain was discontinued in 1997, the manga was picked up by Kadokawa Shoten who subsequently re-released all of the previous tankōbon originally published by Tokuma. The manga is currently serialized in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine. It has been licensed by Viz Media, Star Comics and Chuang Yi Publishing.

Guyver has been adapted into a single OVA titled Guyver: Out of Control (1986, based loosely on the first volume), a 12-episode anime OVA series (1989 to 1992, based on the first four volumes), two American tokusatsu live action movies (1991’s The Guyver and 1994’s Guyver 2: Dark Hero) as well as a 26-episode anime series (2005 to 2006, based on the first ten volumes). There was also a novel released in 1989 and two light novels in 1995.

The Lost is a third-person shooter survival horror game developed by Irrational Games. Set to be released in 2002 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox game consoles, The Lost went through a rocky development period until it was completed, and cancelled. In 2008 the rights and assets to the game were bought by FXLabs and the game saw a release on Windows in 2009 in India, Russia, Poland and the US under different names.

The Lost is heavily inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, particularly Inferno. The setting is present day, and the main character is a waitress and medical student named Amanda Wright. Amanda is a single mother who has lost her only daughter, Beatrice, in a tragic car accident. Desperate and suicidal, Amanda makes a deal with the devil. Selling her soul, she is given the chance to plunge into the bowels of a concentration camp-esque hell in an attempt to rescue her daughter’s soul. The only aids she has in the bowels of hell are Virgil, a strange reptilian creature who Amanda must free from an enchanted sword, and four hellish beings called the Entities. While in hell, Amanda meets several Entities. She is able to trade identities with these beings, and each Entity is playable, with their own special abilities.

Shadow: A thief-like character, Shadow specializes in stealth and deception.
Light: Adept in defensive spell-casting, Light can also provide healing spells.
Corruption: An emaciated mage who performs powerful, offensive spells.
Instinct: A sword-wielding character that is best used in close combat.

The Lost’s development period had always been relatively rocky. Playable models of the game had been described as unstable, with a jittery framerate.[1] The developer chose to switch to a different graphics engine partway through the project, moving from the LithTech engine to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine. Also, Crave Entertainment changed The Lost’s traditional publishing model to a budget game model. Eventually, legal problems amassed, and the completed game was cancelled.
