We've been keeping ourselves very busy behind the scenes at Shadows Affordable Memories, and after months of planning, painting, creating, building and putting all the pieces together, we're finally ready to open the doors to something new here in Glenreagh!
Shadows Affordable Memories is growing with the addition of our Community Art, History & Creative Gallery, and we'd love you to come along and celebrate its official opening with us.
GRAND OPENING
Saturday, 26th September 2026
10:00am – 12:30pm
Official Ribbon Cutting – 10:00am
21 Boundary Street, Glenreagh
At 10:00am, we'll officially open the doors to Shadows Affordable Memories – Community Art, History & Creative Gallery with the cutting of the ribbon.
And there'll be another reason to stick around after the ribbon is cut...
We'll be revealing something very special that we've been keeping under wraps!
We're not giving anything away beforehand. You'll just have to come along and see it for yourself.
With our opening also falling at the beginning of the spring school holidays, we thought we'd make it a fun morning for the whole family to enjoy.

A Little Something We've Been Keeping Secret...
There's another reason this opening morning is going to mean so much to us.
Over the past few months, Alysha, Honi and I have been quietly working together on something very special for our community, and on opening morning we'll finally be able to share it with you.
We've also been very grateful to have Honi Reifler from the Glenreagh Memorial Museum working alongside us. Honi's support, local knowledge and encouragement have meant so much, not only with what we've been working on, but also in helping Shadows become more connected with our community.
We're really looking forward to finally sharing it with everyone on the 26th.
Discover Shadows
There's quite a bit to discover at Shadows!
At the heart of Shadows Affordable Memories is community, art, history, photography and creativity. We've brought these together to create something a little different for Glenreagh — a place for locals and visitors to discover, enjoy and hopefully keep coming back to.
You'll find local art, handmade and creative pieces and gifts, with opportunities for local artists and crafters to become part of the gallery and display their work.
If you're a local artist or crafter who may be interested in displaying your work with us, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll also find the professional printing side of Shadows that many people already know us for, including photo printing, scrapbook page printing, handmade gallery-wrapped canvases and 3D printing.

And then there's something we've added purely because we thought it would be fun...
We've created our very own Old-School Lolly Shop, filled with some of the favourites many of us grew up with.
Think Wizz Fizz, Jaffas, Milk Bottles, Teeth, Bananas, Musk Sticks, Spearmint Leaves, Aniseed Rings, Ring Pops, Tattoo Bubble Gum and plenty more.
It might be the kids who head straight for the lolly jars, but we have a feeling quite a few grown-ups will recognise some old favourites too!
