Last weekend our Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 teams competed in Championship Basketball Schools Queensland tournament â more commonly referred to as All Schools.
Our Year 9/10 team (pictured; missing Isaac and Darnell) played phenomenally over all four days. We came very close against some really high quality opposition; falling short by 3-5 points each outing. In the end we finished 10th in Division 2, which puts us in the top 30 schools in QLD. These boys have come a long way since their first major tournament last year and have represented the school extremely well.
Our Year 7/8 team, who are all Year 7 students, showed some really promising signs, despite being undersized compared to their competition. They got their first win on Saturday against Capalaba College, 32 â 26. The boys were shooting up a storm and played for each other until the final whistle.
The future of Basketball at Ormeau Woods is very bright and we look forward to taking things to the next level in 2021. A huge thank you to all our awesome parents for supporting the boys through these tournaments and allowing them to represent our school.
