August dump 🌸

Sunrises. Birthdays. One heartbreaking goodbye to a very loved dog. 🤍 Shannon turned 30. Another dog had a birthday because priorities. 🥳

The chaotic trio reunited after nearly NINE YEARS and went straight to Surfers.

Partied like we were 21. Met actual 20-somethings. Kept up. Please respect your elders. Retros was a blast. 💅🏼

Then The Great V**e Escape.

Tay lost her v**e.
Devastation occurred.
Search and rescue were deployed.
I took a selfie.

Respectfully, not that deep babe. 🤣

Old friends resurfaced. New ones collected.
B made me a UFC girly. 🥊

✨SIDE QUEST UNLOCKED✨

A 26-year-old friend of nearly a decade apparently woke up and thought, you know what this friendship needs? F**kery.

Shot his shot. Made me an ✨option✨

Okay king, cute. I’m listening. 😂

The audacity was almost attractive 😅

Then he got in his feelings and handed me an insult good enough for merchandise.

Asked permission. Got it. Rookie mistake.

Shirt arrived. Sent the photo. We laughed. I wore it partying. 🤌🏼

Next day: unfriended.

HAHAHAHA.

We’re doing plot twists now? 😂

Asked what happened because you can’t make me an option, disappear me from the cast and expect me not to request the fu***ng patch notes.

Turns out things had suddenly gotten serious with another woman and he didn’t want any ✨options✨ around.

Well why didn’t you say so? 😂

Bet. Quickest change-up, but boundaries respected.

We bounce. 🫡

No hard feelings. Could’ve been fun.

The sudden witness protection enrolment did make me fu***ng laugh though. ☠️🤣

Saw the moon. Loved her. 🌙

Ended August sick, exhausted and still entertained. Zero regrets.

Then my heart saw that the men had failed to humble me and went:

Amateurs.

Fu***ng rude. 😅

Changes & Life Lately
Hi, it’s me…

Jaymie, GirlogicReads, chaotic little gremlin… i go by many names 😅

I know I’ve been super absent lately, my reading has slumped, I got busy and the real world has taken over. 🥲

So I’ve decided I’m going to be making some changes to my account.

Bookstagram will always be my little corner of the internet & I fu***ng love it here 📚💛

But apparently I have a life outside of books (shocking), and I kinda want to share that too.

So the books aren’t going anywhere - you’re just getting more of me in between the pages. I’m merging my entire life into this now — sorry in advance💀

✨July Dump✨
Messy, blurry and questionable.

I’ve been pretty absent from this world for a bit. A lot has been happening. I’ve been working two jobs, training people and just living life with little time for reading or bookish things. Hopefully that about to change. But…

July was filled with laughs, trauma of my cat beating me up AGAIN, talking to a deaf dog everyday and reminding myself of who I’ve always been but lost for a little bit.

Thank you to everyone for the happy birthday wishes, checking in with me and those encouraging me to do s**t that may play out next month. 👀

Here’s to 30, acting like I’m 20 and not giving a f**k. 😅💁🏻‍♀️

Can’t wait to see what August has in store.

Emery + Logan
Happy Release Day!

Ｂｏｏｋ Ｒｅｖｉｅｗ

This was a book I didn’t see coming. I knew when I signed up the arc that it interested me but I didn’t think I would be completely captivated by it. But alas, I was. Very much so.

Emery and Logan were childhood besties. They have always had a strong bond that eventually led them to be more, but everything changes the night of Logan’s eighteenth birthday.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The second chance romance and second chance at life held me completely captivated. Throw in the suspense, a missing person and multiple suspects, I found it extremely hard to put down. I literally devoured it.

K.A. Tucker has created a special piece of art with this one. She delivered with strong and vulnerable characters. Mystery and suspense that kept me on wanting more. A family dynamic that was highly entertaining, even if I did want Logan to just tap Jon on the chin atleast once haha. It’s beautifully written and flows perfectly.

It’s definitely one I will come back to.

Wyn & Logan’s journey is wild and highly addictive and it comes full circle. They would have always ended up together.

I loved getting to know the Cowne Women and all the rumours that come along with them. The glimpse into their family dynamic was interesting but I loved how each of those puzzle pieces came together. They all compliment each other.

I can’t wait to have this sitting all pretty next to my Foxx Men.

Highly recommend.

Do you like a little suspense with your romance?
I’ve been finding myself preferring it again. 😅

MINI ＢＯＯＫ ＲＥＶＩＥＷ

I absolutely enjoyed this book. I spent all weekend with my kobo glue to my hand and my eyes devouring every word written as quickly as I could.

From the very first page it drew me in with the dark and compelling scene unfolding. I had to know how it ended, how she was going to make it out or if she will make it out at all. I had brace myself because I was totally unsure.

Wyn and Julian’s meet cute is off the charts. There’s chemistry, tension, palmistry, flirting, whiskey flights and looks that could make a nun sin.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved Wyn and Julian - especially with how all in Julian was with Wyn from the moment he met her. I really appreciated how Wyn’s trauma was represented and handled, I also loved how Julian was a constant solid presence during these times as well.

Their journey is wild and highly addictive and I love how it comes full circle. They would have always ended up together.

This book is a lot. There is no denying that but it is a great read. It really has set a tone for the series and I am here for it.

Move over Bourbon Boy’s, the Whiskey Women are taking centre stage.

He’s transformed from the lanky boy I knew into something else entirely. His shoulders stretch the worn fabric of his black t-shirt, faded jeans hanging low on narrow hips. Tattoos I don’t recognize snake up his forearms and disappear beneath his sleeves. The boyish softness is gone, replaced by sharp angles and a day’s worth of stubble that makes him look dangerous. I’ve seen his face on billboards and screens, but in person he takes up too much space, steals too much oxygen.
