As a few of you know, over the last 18months especially, Jordan and I have been seeing a specialist to try and have a baby. And whilst there has been some fun trying, it clearly hasn’t worked.

A little bit of back story is that we are in a funny predicament where we can fall pregnant, but my body rejects the embryo. For that reason, IVF is not an option at the moment.
We are currently at 10 miscarriages, 4 since we’ve started seeing a specialist, and have spent close to $15,000 on appointments, hormone therapies and medications and still no baby.
This has not only been a financial battle, but it has been mentally exhausting to say the least.

The next (and possibly last) option for us is Endometriosis surgery.
I don’t know if I have endometriosis, but I do have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).
There is a possibility that the PCOS is masking the endo symptoms, but the only way for a doctor to know if I have this is if I have surgery.
This surgery is quite expensive but we are going to exhaust all options before we run out of time (and money).

Juniper & Elk was created in a time when I had lost my job in the pandemic to keep paying my bills. Now, it’s been a way for me to switch off from my overactive thoughts about having a baby but also to continue to help with the financial side of our tiring journey.
