Did you know that October 10th is World Mental Health Day? What does that mean? Mental Health Australia is funded to run a national awareness campaign for World Mental Health Day on October 10. This year’s campaign has been developed with the aim of challenging negative perceptions around mental illness and encouraging people to take a more positive view mental illness.
Mental health, talking about it and a general understanding of it has for far too long been seen as taboo, something we don't talk about for fear of being looked at differently or negative reactions but this needs to stop. When 1 in 5 Australia's are affected by some type of mental health issue, it should be something spoken about more freely.
