Our Story

We started off as a family of homeschoolers. Which gave us plenty of time to be creative, I have always put great value on play and creativity. The girls learned sewing, drawing, painting, knitting, crocheting, digital technology, woodwork anything that took their fancy really. Then when my eldest Charlotte (Charli) lost her first tooth we made our first tooth fairy pillow. When her friends started asking for pillows too, the little entrepreneur in her decided it would make a good business. She asked if we could do a market stall selling all her various creations. We approached various markets and after looking at the quality of what she made they agreed to give us a stall, she was just six years old at the time.

It wasn’t long before she was making a good little income from her enterprise. But as with all children, she become bored making the same things over and over and that’s when our book ‘The Wibberly Wobberly Tooth’ came to life. Charli decided it was time to start showing others how to make their own pillows, that way she could move onto something else!

We wrote and illustrated the book together and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences ever as a Mum. To start something with a few sketches and ideas to seeing your book go into print is quite magical. We went to Sydney together to speak to the publishers, mostly Charli remembers the pastries we got to eat at the meeting. It was an amazing experience.

Now my little six year old is thirteen and has grown up a lot, most of the time she is more of an adult than her Mother! She decided it was time to go to school as she wanted to learn more and felt she was ready to face the big world on her own. She now attends a really lovely school and concentrates very hard on doing well at school and getting good grades, she probably puts a little too much pressure on herself but that’s Charli! She is still incredibly artistic and enjoys all those subjects at school.
