They said One Piece cards couldn’t be restored. 👀

So we decided to put that theory to the test.

This card came to us with visible damage that most collectors would assume was simply part of the card forever. And with modern cards like these, you have to be extremely careful — pushing a card too far can do more harm than good.

Our job isn’t to “make a card perfect.”

It’s to assess the defects under magnification, understand what can safely be improved, and reduce as much damage as possible without altering the card.

And this one was a seriously interesting challenge.

The result?
You’ll have to watch until the end. 👀

But now we want to hear from the One Piece community…

Would you have attempted to restore this card, or would you have left it exactly as it was?

👇 Comment RESTORE if you’d try to save it.
👇 Comment LEAVE IT if you think it’s too risky.

And if you collect One Piece, tell us this:

What is the ONE card you’d love to see us restore next?

Tag a One Piece collector who needs to see this.

We’ve restored thousands of cards for collectors around the world, but One Piece is a category we’re very excited to push further into.

If you want to see what is actually possible with damaged trading cards, follow Gotta Fix Them All — because we’ve got a lot more coming.

Prepare. Preserve. Profit.

Could this card actually be saved?

11/09/2026

This Umbreon just sold for over $11,000 AUD in a PSA 10. 👀

And this is exactly why preparation before grading matters.

A card can look mint to the naked eye and still have surface contamination, micro-scratches, edge issues, residue or other defects that may affect the final grade.

Professional preparation isn’t about altering a card or guaranteeing a 10.

It’s about identifying what’s actually there, safely addressing what can be addressed, and giving the card the best opportunity within its natural condition before it reaches the grader.

Would you have your card professionally assessed before submitting an $11,000+ card?

👇 YES or NO?

Can your trading card actually be restored?

It’s one of the questions we get asked most often — and the answer depends entirely on the card.

Dents, creases, surface contamination, scratches, edge issues and other defects can all behave differently during professional restoration. Some can be significantly reduced, while others may only be safely improved to a certain point.

That’s why we offer Digital Card Consultations.

Before committing to sending your card to us, our team can review detailed photos, identify visible defects, assess its restoration potential and recommend the most appropriate next step.

Whether you’re considering professional restoration, grading preparation or resubmitting a previously graded card, an assessment can help you make a more informed decision first.

Limited assessment spots are opened at a time due to demand.

Would you crack a BGS 9.5 and risk the grade for a shot at a BGS Pristine 10? 👀

Back in February, this 2025 Masters History of Z Son Gohan, Sadness & Rage Serial SR came across our restoration bench already graded BGS 9.5.

And this is where high-grade card restoration gets interesting.

When you’re dealing with a card that’s already a 9.5, the question isn’t simply:

“Can we make it look better?”

It’s:

“Is there actually enough safely treatable potential here to justify touching it at all?”

Because sometimes the correct answer is no.

Under magnification, we can assess the surface, edges, corners and other condition factors individually. The goal isn’t to chase a number blindly — it’s to identify what is actually present on the card and determine what can reasonably and safely be addressed.

This particular card gave us enough confidence to proceed.

After professional restoration and grading preparation, it went back through Beckett Grading Services.

The result:

🏆 BGS PRISTINE 10

And check out those subgrades:

Centering — 9.5
Edges — 10
Corners — 10
Surface — 10

Three 10 subgrades. 🤯

Results like this are also why we constantly remind collectors that the grade on a slab and the physical condition of the card aren’t necessarily the same conversation.

A 9.5 doesn’t automatically mean there is room for improvement.

A lower grade doesn’t automatically mean there is.

Every card needs to be assessed on its own merits.

We’ve seen cards where intervention makes sense — and plenty where we recommend against pushing any further.

This particular gamble paid off.

BGS 9.5 ➡️ BGS PRISTINE 10.

Six months later and it’s still one of our favourite Beckett returns.

Now put yourself in the owner’s position:

You have the BGS 9.5 sitting in front of you.

Are you cracking it for another shot…

or taking the 9.5 and never touching it again? 😂👇

Professional card restoration • microscope assessment • grading preparation • worldwide submissions.

Real client result. Individual outcomes vary. Restoration does not guarantee a grade increase, and all grades are independently determined by the grading company.

Forget that you know the result. 😂

These little edge lifts are much trickier than they look… 👀

We had five of these cards come across the restoration bench, all needing attention around the edges.

An edge lift is where part of the card’s layered edge has started to lift or separate. And despite how tempting it might be to simply push it back down, that’s exactly where you can make things worse.

Too much pressure can create a new impression.
Work the wrong area and you can disturb the edge further.
Rush it and a tiny defect can become a much bigger one.

So each card is worked individually.

Under magnification, we assess how the edge is sitting, carefully work the affected area, then use controlled pressure to help the lifted section settle back into its natural position.

And then… we wait.

Honestly, there’s something strangely satisfying about seeing five of them lined up at once. 😂

It’s also a good reminder of just how much is happening on a trading card that you simply don’t notice with the naked eye.

Would an edge lift like this bother you, or would you leave it alone? 👇

Pinned comment

The hardest part is knowing when to STOP. 🔬

Some edge lifts can respond really well. Others are better left alone rather than risking additional damage.

Would you have noticed these without magnification? 👀
