From historic beam to guitar body.

The old-growth Douglas fir salvaged from the Botany Aquatic Centre is starting to take shape.

Bookmatched, glued, cut and routed — now beginning the transition from a piece of Sydney history into a custom Tele-style guitar.

Still plenty of work ahead, but it’s always a good moment when the hardware comes out and you get the first glimpse of where it’s heading.

A very special delivery today. ❤️🎸🎹

Our customer gave us their family piano and asked us to transform it into a custom guitar — creating a lasting family memory from an instrument that already held so many.

Today we delivered the finished guitar, where we shared the special moment of hearing it played for the first time.

From family piano… to family guitar. ❤️

A special custom-built guitar with a history as a piano before it ever became a guitar.

Built by hand from carefully selected reclaimed timber and veneer from the families own piano. Every part of this guitar has been considered, shaped and finished here in the Bonham workshop.

No production line.
No shortcuts.
Just one guitar, built for the original family.

This is what happens when old timber gets a second life.
