So this is Goodbye.
What a privilege it has been to share this life journey with all of you, to be involved in such a fabulous mission and ministry.
45 years in this space, starting in the Church Narthex 47 years ago. Hundreds of volunteers, hundreds of thousands of customers, millions of prayers (I suspect) and so many stories, tears, joy, and beautiful opportunities to share the love our Saviour has for all His people.
I love that so many people call this shop by different names "The Bible Shop", "The Catholic Shop", "Our Christian Book Shop" (my personal favourite as it shows that people really felt it was there for them) and my other favourite, Greensborough (tells you where it is) Christian (tells you who it belongs to and what it does) Book (what we most like to sell and see go out the door) and Centre (a really clear indication that it is so much more than what the words of the rest of the title contain).
This is my chance to thank you.
Thank you ! It is too small a phrase to contain the gratitude that I feel for all that we have shared, learnt, explored and grown together in. Thank you for your support, your custom and your prayers.
We have a Ripple Pool in the shop at the moment. The idea is that you drop a pebble in - give thanks to God for the ripples that God has already created from the Book Centre, and pray that the power of His word going, ever outwards, covering more area will continue with strength. Some customers have said they want to drop a boulder in.
I pray that lives touched by God will grow more in love with Him, that books waiting to be read will be picked up, and read again ...... and again. That we would all wrestle with God as Jacob did and find Him as faithful as He always is. That lives would be changed.
