Casual Position | Minimum 20 Hours Per Week | Potential for Ongoing Employment

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic team member to join our retail team across both Bargain Buys Griffith and Treasure Hunter Griffith during the busy Christmas period. September through to January

This is a casual position with a minimum of 20 hours per week, with the potential for the right candidate to continue in a more permanent position after Christmas.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of retail duties across both stores, including:

Providing friendly and professional customer service
Pricing and merchandising stock
Light cleaning and maintaining a tidy store
Balloon making and balloon orders — full on-the-job training provided
Manual lifting, stock handling and general physical labour
Assisting the team during busy trading periods
Working as part of a team to ensure both stores operate efficiently

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

Honest and trustworthy
Reliable and punctual
Hardworking and motivated
A positive team player
Confident dealing with customers
Physically capable of manual lifting and general retail duties
Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks
Available to work without work-hour restrictions
Able to work in a fast-paced and busy retail environment

Previous retail and customer service experience is essential.

Availability Requirements

This position requires a high level of flexibility, particularly over the Christmas period.

The successful applicant must:

Be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week
Be available to work rotational weekends, as weekend work is a requirement of the position
Be available for shifts between 8:50am and 6:00pm
Be available for extended trading hours over the Christmas period
Be comfortable working in either Bargain Buys Griffith or Treasure Hunter Griffith stores
Understand that school-hour-only availability is not suitable for this position

Pay & Conditions

Casual position
Minimum 20 hours per week
Paid in accordance with the General Retail Industry Award
Casual loading applies
Potential for ongoing employment for the right candidate following the Christmas period
