Celebrating 28 years of Poetry in Flowers 🤍

In August 1998 my aunt opened the doors to this little flower shop. In 2017 she handed the reins over to my husband and me and it became the next chapter of our family story.

We wanted to build a business that could support our family while giving us the flexibility to have a parent there when our kids needed us. And over the years this little shop has done exactly that, although certainly not always in the way we imagined.

Running a family business is hard. Really hard sometimes. It’s early mornings, late nights, missed weekends, missed family getaways, working without a break sometimes for months, flowers taking over the house, stressful seasons and plenty of wondering what on earth we’re doing.

But it’s also incredibly rewarding.

It has allowed us to raise our family alongside a business we love. It has supported our family, our staff and their families and given us the privilege of being a tiny part of so many of your lives through birthdays, weddings, babies, celebrations, goodbyes and all the ordinary days in between.

28 years is a long time for a small family business and we don’t take that for granted.

To everyone who has ordered flowers, walked through our doors, recommended us, trusted us with a wedding or event or simply followed along - thank you.

And to my aunt who started it all back in 1998, thank you for creating something that became so much more than a flower shop.

Here’s to 28 years of flowers, family, hard work and a whole lot of gratitude.
