💛 Daffodil Day Dedication 💛
Today we wear yellow, not just as a colour, but as a symbol of hope, courage, love, and remembrance
Daffodil Day is about so much more than a flower, it’s about the people behind the stories 💛
It’s for those currently battling cancer, those who have fought bravely and won, those we have loved and lost, the families who have stood beside them, and for anyone who may unfortunately one day hear those three life-changing words… “you have cancer”
Today we dedicate this to every fighter, every survivor, every caregiver, every family, and every beautiful soul whose journey has touched ours 💛
This poem is called - The Daffodil That Carries Your Light
I still remember the day that you left
The world felt so empty, my heart felt bereft
Cancer came quietly, stealing your days
Leaving behind only memories and haze
You fought every battle with courage and grace
A beautiful soul with a beautiful face
Though your body grew tired and your journey was long
Your love was the melody that carried us on
The flowers still bloom, the seasons still change
But life without you will never feel the same
I look at the sky and I whisper your name
Wishing somehow you’d answer again
Then comes Daffodil Day, a symbol of hope
A reminder for those who are learning to cope
A little yellow flower, so bright and so true
Carries the stories of people like you
It stands for the fighters who refuse to give in
For the battles they face and the strength found within
It honours the loved ones we’ve had to let go
And the tears that we hide but the world doesn’t know
To me, every daffodil carries your light
A piece of your courage, a spark shining bright
It tells me that love doesn’t end when we part
It lives on forever, deep in the heart
So today I remember, I grieve and I smile
Because loving you made every moment worthwhile
Though cancer may have taken your hand from mine
Your love is a treasure that forever will shine
And when those yellow flowers dance in the breeze
I’ll feel your presence among the trees
For every daffodil that blooms in the sun
Whispers softly… your story lives on 💛
Today we remember, we support, and we stand together
May every story shared bring comfort
May every memory bring warmth
And may every daffodil remind us that even in the darkest moments, hope continues to grow
