: The Willys MB, the original Jeep.
Over 600,000 units rolled out between 1941 and 1945, built by both Willys-Overland and Ford under licence to keep up with wartime demand. Reconnaissance, troop transport, medical evac, it did it all on a 60hp "Go-Devil" engine and four driven wheels. 🪖
General Eisenhower himself called it one of three tools that helped the Allies win WWII. Not bad for something that weighed around 2,400 lbs and could be flat-packed into a wooden crate.
The bloodline of every off-road utility vehicle that came after it traces right back here.
