This incredible artwork, created by Warren Hubbard for Cotter Floors inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), reflects our strong family legacy, connection to culture, and commitment to guiding future generations.

The large central circle represents Cotter Floors’ heritage — a foundation built since 1955 on quality craftsmanship, resilience, and family values. Surrounding it are five smaller meeting places which honour the elements that contine to shape the company’s success.

1️⃣ generations of family who have led and nurtured the business
2️⃣ teamwork between office staff, subcontractors and partners
3️⃣ knowledge and skills passed through mentorship
4️⃣ connections built with clients and the wider community
5️⃣ growth and renewal that has seen the business flourish

Pathways linking each circle reflect the constant flow of knowledge, values and trust that bind these elements together.

The blues set against a black canvas not only align with Cotter Floors’ brand identity, but also evoke stability, trust, and resilience — qualities that have sustained our business for 70 years. The composition celebrates both continuity and connection: the threads that keep families, teams and communities strong.

“Our story is built on generations of dedication, hard work and caring for the people around us," says our GM, Jarryd Bailey.

"As a family-owned business, we understand the value of connection, respect, and passing knowledge from one generation to the next. This inaugural RAP reflects these values — it’s a way for us to acknowledge and honour the culture, traditions and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to start embedding these principles into how we work.

"We see reconciliation as an ongoing journey of learning and listening. The plan helps us explore ways to build understanding, increase cultural awareness within our team, and foster meaningful relationships with the Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live and operate."

Thanks to the great work Reconciliation Australia during this National Reconciliation Week.

At Cotter Floors, we're for National Reconciliation Week 2026 – starting tomorrow.

Thanks to the great work Reconciliation Australia is doing, with countless organisations and communities, our team has a role to play when it comes to reconciliation. In playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.

The dates for NRW remain the same each year; 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey – the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.
