🌿 What a wonderful start to our East Kimberley Bush Foods & Botanicals workshops yesterday in Halls Creek! 🤎

It was so lovely to receive beautiful feedback this morning, with participants describing the workshop as “inspiring” and “loved hearing about possibilities”.

There really is something special about coming together in person, sharing knowledge, yarning, learning from one another, and being reminded that there are others on the same journey.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday. We loved spending the day with you.

A huge thank you to everyone who made Piriwa travel to at KAFTA - Kimberley Aboriginal Fashion Textiles Art

Special thanks to Regional Arts WA Job Pathways for supporting the travel of the Piriwa women into Broome, and to our amazing volunteers Joseph Landro and Luke for being part of the journey.

This powerful creative collaboration was led by Jaru GirlBianca Long and Piriwa Op Shop, with support from Enterprise_Partnerships_WA and Camera Story

Piriwa recently travelled to in Broome. Kathyrn Njamme shares the designs are created on upcycled garments and represent bushtucker, flowers and animals from the desert. "We named it Piriwa after the flowers that we used to collect, they've got honey, as a kid we used to eat them, suck on the flowers with honey in it and it's very sweet," Donate to EPWA at to help the continued supporting Piriwa. Today, Djukun Nation’s own Jaala Ozies had the absolute pleasure of providing free hairdressing services to the lovely ladies from the Piriwa Op Shop in Balgo Community 💖

These strong and beautiful women will be strutting their stuff as models with their own up cycled fashion collection created with mentorship from Jaru Girl in this week’s KAFTA Indigenous Fashion Show happening right here on Djukun Country Broome, WA. 🌴🖤💛❤️

When Clare from Enterprise Partnerships WA reached out, Jaala didn’t hesitate:
“It’s an opportunity for me to give back to community,” she said. And what a powerful way to support our women and showcase Indigenous excellence!
