Perched on the side of a hill in an old woodshed looking out over the Hartley Valley, the view alone is enough to inspire you. Walking in through the workshop on your way to the gallery you realise this is the home of a working artist, and a prolific one at that. If the blacksmith forge isn’t breathing fire or the welder flashing there will be sparks somewhere as metal artist Ron Fitzpatrick bring

s to life a new creation. It might be one of his signature mirrors which are more wall art than function, like the Goddess or Celtic Queen, or he might be enclosing a large amethyst crystal into one of his wrought iron sculptures. He might even be down the side of the hill adding a new piece to his newly installed Contemplation sculpture walk. Visitors keep coming back because they know they will always find something new. Often, you will even see it being made.

“Nobody meets anyone who makes anything anymore – everything is imported,” Ron says. As well as great metal art the gallery has a room filled with exquisite handcrafted silver jewellery. Rings, earring and pendants mounted with gemstones, coral, pearls and shell. Along with a great range of art clocks the gallery has something for everyone.
