Wine of the week: 2019 A Vaca Cuca Albarino

It's named after a cow. In Galicia nearly every village has one called Cuca, and the label is tip of the hat to the farming families out there which, funnily enough, isn't a bad fit for Harvey.

It comes from Val do Salnes in Rias Baixas, right on the Atlantic, and it tastes like it. Citrus, a bit of stone fruit, and that salty edge you get in coastal whites.

Drink it with anything from the sea. Or fish and chips on the back step.

September, and the afternoons are finally hanging around long enough to sit outside with something cold.

A few new international whites have landed this month. An Albarino from the Spanish coast, a Torrontes out of Argentina, and a barrel-fermented white from Rioja.

We'll go through them properly over the next few weeks. Until then they're on the shelf and we're always up for a chat about them.
