How simple it it to use BioBrix for BBQ or Smoking? I thought I would try out the cheapest off the shelf BBQ at Bunnings and see how it went. For $49 and 15 minutes of my time we have a basic BBQ/Smoker. and it works. A single BioBrix Firelighter and a couple of handfuls of BioBrix Briquettes and close the lid. 10 Minutes later good to go.

I had way too much fuel for the small batch of snags I threw on to try it out. They were only in there for 35 minutes at 150degC. Came out super moist and very evenly cooked. It really only needed 3-4 Briquettes and it would have still lasted over an hour of cooking time. The challenge with the small unit is keeping the temperature right but the 4 vents and the flue damper seem to work well once you get a feel for it.
Downside is the very short legs on the BBQ and having no access to the fire after you load up the grill. Will see what we can do about that.
