For the past 12 months it's been a real struggle to get in touch with my creative side. I thought that I would try something different (I've never done a portrait before) so thought I would do one up as a Litha gift for one of the wonderful ladies that I work with. I'm not 100% happy with it, but my kids tell me that I'm my own harshest critic.

Once again the holiday weather has been less than cooperative. Brrrrr......Too cold and wet to be outside - I have still...

Once again the holiday weather has been less than cooperative. Brrrrr......Too cold and wet to be outside - I have still been creative though - just in a different way. I have started making a Romani costume for my daughter. I have also been playing around with different resin and glue finishes for some of the staffs that I've been working on.

I had to spend the last week in isolation (courtesy of a positive case in the house) so I managed to get a start on some of my next projects. I'm making a staff or four. The timber was sourced locally - after the first lot of flooding but I'm not sure what it is. Whatever it is, it's certainly beautiful under the bark. Hopefully I'll get a chance to work on them during the week, but if not, holidays are just around the corner ☺

Well, the holidays certainly did not go to plan - between family commitments in Brisbane and some not so nice weather and flooding courtesy of Cyclone Seth - the only thing I got done (creativity wise) was to make a bunch of face masks and I also managed to find some wonderful (potential) staffs from amongst the flotsam and jetsam left over from the floods - kind of annoyed that I didn't get in touch with my creative side, but there's always the weekends I suppose. Only a week or two to the next school holidays and I can get creative again. I've picked up quite a lot of naturally shed deer antler so I'm hoping to make some new wands and I'm going to try making a staff or two. I'll hopefully get around to making another Wheel of the Year as well - BB :)
