A fin fish closure is in place on K'gari (Fraser Island) from today until 11.59pm on Sunday, 29 September 2024. ⛔🐠

The closure applies to K'gari eastern foreshore waters and waters within 400 metres out to sea from the eastern shore at low water, between 400m north of Waddy Point and 400m south of Indian Head. (Refer to the red outlined area in the map below.)

Bit of a refresher for everyone 😁

Don’t get caught out—measure your blue swimmer crabs notch to notch! 📏🦀

We’re seeing an increase in fishers possessing undersized blue swimmer crabs.

They’re measured using the distance between the notch immediately in front of the base of the large horizontal spine on one side, and the same notch on the other side.

A massive heartfelt thank you to all our Hervey Bay Customers that have continued to support us since the Store closed after the devastating rain event in December. We are busier than ever with the daily free door to door delivery requests. Due to the extreme weather event in December which saw Hervey Bay experience over 160mm overnight, our store was forced to close due to the shop being inundated and suffering extensive damage.
Unfortunately being so close to peak trading period of Christmas when people needed us has been heartbreaking. The cleanup has been delayed by numerous others experiencing damage and as a result sorting the insurance aspect of the event has resulted in our decision to close the outlet permanently which has not been an easy one to make.
The parties that were interested in taking over the business have since pulled out.
We are offering a free delivery service after 10.30am week days to Hervey Bay. Contact our Maryborough store on 4122 4819 for assistance.
We wish to thank all our Customers and the local businesses that supported us the last 5 1/2 years and hope we can still be of assistance.
