So sorry that I ran out of time to list these books yesterday. The Simple Garment Making books were Government school books for dressmaking. The earlier issues were the two plain covers. The darker one has 31 pages, whereas the other one is 46 pages. The later book with the illustration on the. cover was the revised edition from 1969. They all have 68 pages. Being vintage these books are not pristine, some have marks where sellotaped covers were, actual pages are in pretty good condition. These are out of print now & not always easy to find. Great inspiration for a Sewing Journal etc. Melba issues 3 & 5 have lots of pictures & show embroidery stitches etc.
Asking $12.50 each + postage.

Hi everyone,
Well yesterday's market was good but tiring, not sure that I'll be doing too many more, especially as summer is fast approaching & that old hall, as lovely as it is, is not air conditioned. Showing photos of what I have available in case anyone wants to shop on here.
Thanks for looking.
PS I'll list some vintage dressmaking books later on today.
Sorry but posting to the US is still unavailable at this time 🀎.

Hi everyone,
Well at last I have finished one of my tattered booklets, three to go (what was I thinking)! I've used pics from my two fave sellers, ArtHouseWhimsy, Goldenmeade & one from Sweetpea Curiosities.
A note for the local ladies that I'll be attending the Maryborough market in St Paul's Hall once again this coming Thursday. I'll be positioned at the back of the hall though.
I'm bringing vintage linens, embroidery threads, French Paper packs, vintage dressmaking books, vintage fabrics, old embroidery transfers, even a vintage wedding dress & some of my journals & anything else I can squeeze into my car. Hoping to see some of you there for a fun morning 🀎.

Hi there, well this past week I've been a bit busy. First up I created three slow stitching/inspiration packs. The first two neutral packs are filled with lots of vintage pieces of lace, some French pieces, doilies, old buttons, some bling etc. They both measure 40 x 40 cms (or a bit larger) & are $30 each +$5 postage. The third pack has lovely pieces of vintage florals & laces. There's even some pretty liberty fabric included. This pack measures over 40 x 40 cms & is $25 + $4 postage.
Being vintage there could be the odd mark etc, perfectly, imperfect.
If you wish to purchase can you please write sold in the comments, thank you 🀎.
Sorry but at this stage I'm only posting in Australia.

Well I've been working on a few different projects, (I wish I could do one at a time). I hope to finish four of these French, scrappy booklets today.
I'm in love with this little waif from GoldenMeade, you'll find her over on Etsy.
Have a fabulous day everyone 🀎.

Hi there,
I just thought I'd pop in & show you the treasures I picked up at our local recycle centre yesterday. These are just some of the Australian Home Journals I found. Mostly from the 1960's. They would come with patterns enclosed for the home dressmakers, I think by subscription. I know some people still sew vintage clothing using these patterns. Amongst these books were old patterns, one was for a blazer from Weigels, another well known pattern producer. The pattern in the really old packet was for men's underpants!
Lastly, was an old exercise book, aged perfectly.
A lot of these magazines are a bit shabby so I think I'll make up some vintage paper packs & include the good pages, great if you're creating a vintage sewing journal πŸͺ‘🧡.
Enjoy your day friends 🀎.

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone that supported my market stall last Thursday. It was great meeting new followers & talking to fellow arty ladies. Thanks also for the lovely comments on here. I hope to be back at the market on the 17th September.
I have to admit it's been hard creating again but I did manage this small vintage book cover. I have a bit of a penchant for this charming girl from at the moment.
Have a lovely creative day everyone. I'm going to be creating some clear space in which to create (I hope) 🀎.

I'm doing the Thursday market again at St Paul's Maryborough. Still trying to downsize my stash 🀎.

Yesterday I attended a fabulous Assemblage workshop with Nora from Jinx Art Gallery (Maryborough). It was run at Gatakers Art Space in conjunction with Waste to Art. My piece is still a work in progress 🀎.
