I've always enjoyed tying Humpy's. They are a pattern that you can throw at eager trout who will happily jump through the top to take a bite, or you can just admire what is a fantastic looking pattern. Either way, I think they're great!

Last week I went away on a solo trip to East Gippsland with just the boat, swag and fly rods.

My main target was larger sized lizards (Dusky Flathead) I didn't manage any gigantic girls, but found quite a few in the 60s/70s range, which I was still stoked about. It was a great week fishing some absolutely spectacular water, and playing around with some fly patterns and techniques to see what was working where. The learning never stops!

Well it's Autumn and the trout season continues. Finished off the weekends trips yesterday with first timers, Jase and Harrison.
What a great couple of blokes to take out on the water. Can confirm, we possibly have a couple more fly fishing tragics joining the fold.

The rivers are all go at the moment, so get amongst it.

It was smiles all round for repeat client Adam on Friday when we ventured into some backcountry. Fantastic fishing by Adam resulted in a lot of stunning fish to the net.

I'm always seeing cool stuff when I'm out on the water or in the bush, but yesterday was one I definitely won't forget. What went from an "I'll try and help this little guy" mission, turned around into a rad learning experience. What a bloody ripper, made my day!

Did an hour of power on Friday afternoon before school pick up on a piece of water I've been looking at for 10 years, but never actually Fished. Even better, it is ridiculously close to my house. Will be back!

I would hate to know how many Bass I've caught on this Bass Vampire pattern alone now... Its been bloody heaps, and as recent as yesterday again!

My young bloke Jordan and I have been spending a fair bit of time chasing our local bass over the past few weeks. We've been experimenting during the golden hours from sundown to dark, and right in the middle of the day as well.

Jordan smacking them on hardbodies and top water cicadas, while I've been throwing top water and sinking flies. We're working on getting Jordan his first one on fly!

Its been really really good with some pretty decent fish being landed.
Great fun with my mate!

Went on some back country adventuring with my mate Corey at the end of last week whilst we both had some time.

What a bloody great day and just what I needed. Heaps of fish, great fun, and some tired legs at the end of it. Plans already in progress for our next mission out back to scout some water.
