This is my offical page for my Design side of my life, Hugs 'n Kisses. Here I will keep you up to date with snippets of stitching, design tales and the passion and therapy of stitching in all of its forms. This is also the home of Colourque (R) - coloured pencil on fabric to create wonderful applique effects.

One Mini is lovely…but a whole wall of them? Even better!

Mix your favourite designs in small frames and embroidery hoops, then arrange them together for a sweet little gallery wall. Add a plant or a touch of macramé and you’ve got a gorgeous handmade corner without having to redecorate the whole room.

We stitched ours mostly with black Presencia Finca Perle #16 for a fresh, modern look, but you could use your favourite embroidery floss or Perle thread and make them as colourful as you please.

Just grab your fabric, stabiliser, hoop and needle, and you’re ready for a relaxing little stitch.

A little appliqué, a touch of embroidery and the sweetest scalloped finish 🌸

These three beautiful applique cushion designs are a lovely series to practise Helen’s simple gluestick appliqué technique. Finish each one as a cushion or turn it into a wall hanging—the choice is yours!

Create the scallops using the 2” Quick Points Scallop Ruler or the templates included in the pattern.

One more row… then bed. Or perhaps two more? We all know how that goes!

Meet A Thousand Stitches, a cosy cushion that pairs the neat little shapes of English Paper Piecing with the gentle rhythm of hand stitchery.

The EPP iron-on templates are included, so you can press, fold and stitch without removing the papers later. Choose the transfer and custom paper set on its own, or add the matching thread pack.

There’s also a tutorial available to help you get started.
