Behind the Scenes at Gibbon Architectural

We had the opportunity to visit Gibbon Architectural and spend some time in their custom rug workshop.

We had a closer look at the different stages involved in custom rug production, from exploring colours and materials through to the assembly and finishing process.

Seeing the process firsthand gave us a greater appreciation for the craftsmanship and attention to detail involved in producing a custom rug, and the work that goes into each finished piece.

Thank you to the Gibbon Architectural team for welcoming us into the workshop and sharing the process with us.

A little art inspiration for a rainy Hobart Saturday 🎨☔️

Hayes Flooring was lucky enough to attend the opening of the Rotary Club of Hobart Art Show as a sponsor, warmly opened by Her Excellency the Honourable Caroline Wells, Governor of Tasmania.

This wonderful annual event brings together an incredible collection of Tasmanian art, while raising funds to support Rotary’s important work in our community.

Hayes Flooring is very proud to sponsor the Printmaking & Drawing section again this year — and there is certainly plenty of beautiful work to tempt you!

With Hobart turning on the rain today, it’s the perfect excuse to head indoors, have a wander and perhaps find an original piece of Tasmanian art that needs to come home with you. 😊

A great event, talented local artists and a very worthwhile cause — well worth a visit this weekend.

Behind the Scenes at Prestige Carpets

Today we had the opportunity to visit the Prestige Carpets factory and see firsthand how their carpets are made — from the machinery in action to the different stages of the production process.

It was great to see the craftsmanship, technology and care behind the carpets we specify for our clients.

These colourful Tretford coasters were one of our favourite additions to the Tasmanian Menopause Summit gift bags!

Made from genuine Tretford carpet offcuts, they're a fun way to showcase the quality, colour and creativity behind the Tretford range while giving materials a second life. ♻️

A big thank you to Gibbon Architectural for supporting the event with these unique coasters and carpet samples. We love working with suppliers who value both innovation and sustainability.

🎉Congratulations, Donna! 🎉

We are delighted to announce that Donna from Tolmans Hill is the winner of our beautiful 2m x 3m Prestige rug.

Donna was absolutely thrilled to receive the news and can't wait – she has also decided to replace the original carpet in her family home after 18 years. With four children, two cats and a dog, it's going to be a well-deserved transformation!

A huge thank you to Prestige for supporting the Tasmanian Menopause Summit with such a generous prize.

Design meets accessibility.

For a wheelchair-bound client, our client tested flooring options the only way that matters — in real life.

Using full-size pieces, we wheeled across each option to assess comfort, flow and finish.

The standout was Cavalier Bremworth Untouched — beautifully textured and the smoothest under wheels.

The Interface carpet tiles also performed well and remain a strong, contemporary alternative.

Proof that accessibility and good design can — and should — go hand in hand.
