Sally Grace Designs Sustainable and Upcycled clothing for all ages

27/07/2026

Hello everyone! 👋

I'm back from a wonderful holiday and my sewing room is officially open again!

If you've got something that's been sitting in the "I'll get that fixed one day" pile, now's the perfect time to bring it in. I can help with:

🧵 Clothing repairs
✂️ Alterations
👔 Back-to-school uniform repairs and alterations
🪡 Zip replacements
🩹 Visible mending
🧶 Repairs to crochet and knitted blankets
♻️ Upcycling and giving new life to old favourites

I love helping people repair rather than replace, extending the life of the clothes and textiles you already love.

I'm based in Gardners Bay, Tasmania, and work on an hourly rate, charged in 30-minute increments, so you only pay for the time your job takes.

If you're wondering whether something can be repaired, just send me a photo—I'd be happy to let you know. Looking forward to seeing you all again! 💙

✨ have you ever started a project and then never finished ? .... yeah... (cough) . me neither 😆😅! 💪✂️

This gorgeous coat arrived as a stack of carefully cut pattern pieces, and my job was to turn it into something ready to wear. After plenty of stitching, pressing, and attention to detail... here's the finished result! 🤩

I have to say... I'm a little bit in love with this one! ❤️ The classic check, the cosy fabric, and those finishing touches came together beautifully.

What do you think? Would you wear this? 👇

Got a sewing project that's been sitting in a bag waiting to become something amazing? Send me a message—I'd love to help bring it to life! 🪡✨

Every repair tells a story.

This soft alpaca jumper has been thoughtfully restored using visible mending. A hand-woven repair transforms a damaged area into a unique textile feature, celebrating the garment's history while giving it many more years to be loved.

Visible mending isn't about hiding wear—it's about embracing it, reducing waste, and creating something even more beautiful than before.

If you have a favourite knit or treasured garment that needs a little care, I'd love to help bring it back to life.

Contact Sally Grace Designs to discuss your repair and discover how visible mending can give your well-loved pieces a beautiful second chance.

There's something quietly satisfying about giving well-loved clothes another chapter. 🤎🌿

This week's repairs have taken me from replacing a zipper in a Macpac vest to fitting a new fly in a favourite pair of pants, and patching up the well-earned holes in a hardworking pair of tradie trousers. Every stitch is a reminder that our clothes are worth caring for.

Choosing to repair instead of replace is a small act that makes a real difference. It saves money, reduces waste, and honours the resources and craftsmanship that went into making each garment.

Take a look at this week's repair transformations, and if you've got something tucked away that's waiting for a second chance, send me a photo. I'd love to help you keep your favourite clothes in use for many more years.
