It’s fantastic to have a new book from Karen Brooks on our shelves! Our brand new book club Read & Meet Tasmania is live! Join us in celebrating Tasmanian fiction, where you don't just discuss the book, you meet the author.

Session 1 features Johanna Bell and her novel Department of the Vanishing. Session 1 will be held on Monday the 28th September from 5:30pm to 7pm and will start with a discussion led by Meahd, followed by a chance to hear Johanna chat about the book and give you the opportunity for a Q&A.

We are delighted to announce we are the recipients of an ABA Bookseller Events Grant!

We are one of 27 bookshops across Australia that is receiving funding to bring our planned events program to life. The program is designed to support the creation of events that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.

We’ve begun planning Read and Meet Tasmania, a new book club dedicated to Tasmanian fiction, where you'll discuss the book and then meet the author in person.
Each session will feature a different author and our sessions will take place between late September to January.

We can’t wait to share updates with you. More details to come very soon!

Wild birds are facing more threats than ever, from bird flu and habitat loss to climate change and invasive species.

One way we can help is by getting to know the birds around us. Being able to recognise species can help with reporting sightings and monitoring populations.

We have a beautiful range of books about birds, from local species to those found around the world, celebrating the vital role they play in ecosystems, because we can’t imagine a world without them.

As AI expands what we can do, it is also reshaping how we think, work and relate to ourselves. 'Brain-Friendly Leader' explores the risk of becoming disconnected from the wisdom no system can generate, and why great leadership isn’t simply performed, it’s cultivated through the connection of brain, body and emotion.

Joining Silvia and Relmi for a panel discussion will be local author Gail Eaton-Briggs and Katherine Riddoch, who are both practitioners of brain-friendly leadership.
