🍂 Celebrating Mabon in Queensland 🍂

In the Southern Hemisphere, Mabon marks the Autumn Equinox, a sacred moment of balance when day and night are nearly equal. In 2026, the equinox occurs around 20–21 March, with many celebrating on 21 March 2026.

Mabon is known as the second harvest festival on the Wheel of the Year. It’s a time to give thanks for what has grown in your life, reflect on the past season, and prepare for the darker half of the year.

Here are 5 meaningful ways to celebrate Mabon in Queensland with simple rituals:

🌿 1. Create a Harvest Altar
Decorate a small altar with autumn colours and seasonal foods from Queensland such as apples, grapes, nuts, or pumpkins. Add candles in gold, orange, or red to represent the fading sun.
✨️Ritual: Light a candle and say a gratitude prayer for the abundance in your life.

🍎 2. Share a Harvest Meal
Cook with seasonal ingredients and share food with loved ones. Traditional Mabon foods include bread, roasted vegetables, apples, and wine or juice.
✨️Ritual: Before eating, speak one thing you’re thankful for.

🔥 3. Ritual of Release
As the nights begin to grow longer, Mabon is a powerful time to release what no longer serves you.
✨️Ritual: Write down habits, fears, or worries you want to let go of. Safely burn the paper in a fireproof bowl and imagine the weight lifting away. Scatter the ashes to the wind, bury them or leave them at a crossroad.

Full Lunar Eclipse 🌓🌕🌗

🌕✨ **Did anyone else feel that Lunar Eclipse energy on Tuesday night?**

Lunar eclipses already stir deep tides within us, but this one felt especially chaotic — like the universe was shaking the snow globe of our emotions and saying, “Look again.”

I had all the intentions of doing rituals, spell work, or at least setting some powerful eclipse intentions of clearing what no longer served… but honestly? My body said **nope**. The energy was so intense I didn’t feel well at all.

So instead of candles, cards, or crystals… I simply sat on the grass under the sky. Bare feet on the earth. Breathing. Letting the moon do her thing without me trying to control or direct.

And maybe that was the real magick of the night.

Sometimes eclipse energy isn’t about *doing*.
Sometimes it’s about **surrendering**, grounding, and letting the cosmic tides move through you while you simply exist beneath them.

If you felt tired, emotional, strange, or just a little “off,” you weren’t alone. Eclipse energy can be powerful, messy, and deeply transformative.

Tuesday night reminded me that even witches sometimes just sit quietly in the grass and let the universe handle the spellwork. 🌑🌕✨

Today, I had the privilege and honour of sharing some time and a cuppa with the heart behind Burn With Intention, and without hesitation, she gifted over 100 gorgeous floral candles to Coastal Coven.
