Great day out with a stopover at Treat Time Inverloch 💖

Discover what life was like beneath the surface on an underground tour of the Wonthaggi State Coal Mine ⛏️.

Step into Wonthaggi’s mining history and follow in the footsteps of the miners who once worked deep underground. It’s a fascinating family day out 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, bringing the stories and working conditions of the early to mid-1900s to life.

Above ground, wander through heritage buildings, climb aboard the old steam locomotive 🚂 and stop for a bite at the Wonthaggi State Coal Mine Cafe ☕. Then head underground to explore a network of tunnels frozen in time, with original tools ⚒️ and skips offering a glimpse into the challenging conditions miners faced.

The State Coal Mine runs daily underground tours at 11.30am and 2pm. Tours are suitable for children aged five years and over, with bookings available through Parks Victoria.

Pink Lady chocolate is one of the best, and when they stopped making the peppermint truffle bar it was devastating! But they have brought it back in bite size bits, same amazing taste just in different form

Treat Time is perfect for a wet days fun!! Come on in and spend some time browsing, find that treat that makes you feel good , go home to the heater, grab a board game and have an awesome arvo 😍 oh and pop in to the shell museum, go play mini golf, check out the shops, and enjoy a great weekend!!
