Meet the Local – Seth James-Reed 👋

At just 21 years of age, Seth James-Reed took over J&R Family Butchers after beginning his apprenticeship there at just 16, when it was known as the Irymple Butcher.

Originally from Kangaroo Island before moving to the Adelaide Hills, Seth started butchering at just 15 and has been honing his craft ever since.

Today, everything at J&R Family Butchers is made in-store, from their handmade sausages to their award-winning shortcut bacon.

Seth says one of the best parts about working at Irymple Hub is the convenience it offers locals.

"It's a one-stop shop. People can get everything they need in one place."

One of the things that makes Irymple Hub more than just a shopping centre is the people behind its businesses.

Pictured is Club Aquarius Manager Nathanial Langdon helping member Nathan Penny during our visit to the gym.

While we were there, it was obvious the relationships extended well beyond fitness. Members stopped to chat, shared a laugh and encouraged one another throughout their workouts. It was a welcoming atmosphere that made people feel comfortable from the moment they walked through the doors.

Meet the Locals – Club Aquarius 💪

Nathanial started with Club Aquarius when he was just 18.

In 2022, he helped open the Irymple Hub gym, watching it grow from an empty piece of land into the vibrant fitness community it is today.

A qualified trainer and nutrition coach, Nathanial says the most rewarding part of his job is seeing the transformation in people’s lives.

From young members through to older members, Club Aquarius is a place where people of all ages come to train and better themselves.

When visiting the gym, it was clear Nathanial has built genuine relationships with the people who train at Club Aquarius. Members stopped to chat, shared a laugh and seemed completely at home in the space.

Meet the Locals at Irymple Hub – Irymple Post Office, Newsagency & Tatts

Natalie is the co-owner of the Irymple Post Office, Newsagency & Tatts and has been part of the business since 2003.

As Irymple continues to grow in popularity, the volume of mail and customers has increased. The move to Irymple Hub from their previous location provided the larger space needed to support this growth and better serve the community.

Being part of Irymple Hub allows customers to enjoy easy access and ample parking, while the expanded space has also enabled the business to grow its range of giftware — supporting local shopping and local gifting.

Before purchasing the business, Natalie was a stay-at-home mum raising four children. Once her kids were old enough and at school, she took the step into business ownership. Prior to that, she worked at the Department of Human Services as a Housing Officer and Arrears Clerk.

Today, Natalie continues to provide a friendly, reliable service that plays an important role in everyday life in Irymple.

Meet Dr Junnatul Fardaus (Junna), Director and GP at Irymple Medical Centre.

Since taking over the clinic in 2019, Junna has helped grow the centre into a warm, welcoming and family-focused practice, designed around patient safety, comfort and compassionate care.

In 2023, the clinic moved into its new purpose-built space here at Irymple Hub, and today it’s home to a growing team of seven doctors, with two more joining this year.

While Irymple residents enjoy having the service close to home, patients also travel from across the Sunraysia region to visit the centre.

Bulk billing is available for consultations for children under 16, DVA, healthcare card and pension card holders.

Meet Despina 👋
An Irymple local and the deli manager at Ritchies IGA Irymple.

Despina started at Ritchies four years ago at just 16, and now runs the deli. She loves all the friendly faces, as well as prepping food and keeping the deli fridge stocked.

Along with serving the community all the classic deli favourites, Despina also ensures the fridge is packed with a wide variety of healthy options, from fresh salads to easy heat-and-eat dinners.

With busy schedules and less time to cook, it’s all about making life a little easier.

Amanda Edwards’ journey with Tankard Dental began at 20 years old as a dental nurse.

Fourteen years on, she’s now the Practice Manager, helping ensure patients feel supported and cared for while keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

What’s kept her there?
No two days are the same. Dentistry is always evolving, and Amanda loves being part of a team that grows alongside it — while still focusing on what matters most: helping people feel comfortable and at ease.
