Who knew grass could create careers?

Jamie and Karen had a great day representing Mallee Turf at SuniTAFE’s AgVenture Day, talking to students about the opportunities available within the turf industry.

Many people don’t realise the turf industry is about much more than mowing lawns. There are career pathways in turf production, irrigation, machinery operation, landscaping, sports turf management, agronomy and business ownership.

We’re passionate about showing young people that there are plenty of rewarding careers available right here in our region, and we’d love to continue working alongside organisations like SuniTAFE to help showcase those opportunities.

Thanks to SuniTAFE for having us and to all the students who stopped by our stand and asked questions throughout the day. We hope we inspired a few future turf managers along the way! 🌱

At Mallee Turf, we’re proud to be the ONLY AusGAP Certified turf grower in the Mildura region. That means our farm is independently audited and held to strict national standards for quality, genetic purity, w**d control, farm practices and customer satisfaction.

We get asked all the time what we’re actually doing out on the farm.

So I figured when I get a chance — and actually remember — I’ll start posting a few more behind-the-scenes videos of what we’re up to out here at the farm. Turf farming is still pretty new to the area, so a bit of education and insight into what goes on behind the scenes can’t hurt.

Just a warning though, my media resume isn’t exactly elite, so you’ll have to put up with the rawness of my content.

So if you drive past and see me looking like an absolute derro talking to my phone or filming myself, now you know why.
