Over the past 18 months, I've had the privilege of working alongside our communities through one of the toughest seasons many can remember.
I've seen first-hand the resilience of our farming families, but I've also seen the quiet weight that so many carry.
As we head into National Farm Safety Week, it's a timely reminder that farm safety isn't just about machinery, livestock or making it home at the end of the day. It's also about looking after the person behind the wheel.
That's why I'm incredibly proud to be working alongside Suzi Evans to deliver five Meet the Author – A Cuppa, A Chat & A Chapter sessions across the Coorong.
Suzi's story is one of unimaginable loss, courage and hope. Together, we'll be creating a safe space for honest conversations about grief, resilience, mental wellbeing and the importance of community connection—conversations that are often difficult, but so incredibly important in rural Australia.
This initiative has been made possible through the collaboration of Coorong District Council and Coorong Conversations Matter, with support through PIRSA's Connecting Communities program.
If you're in the region, I'd love to see you there. Come along for a cuppa, hear Suzi's incredible story, and perhaps leave with a few new tools for your own mental workbench.
Because strong farms need strong people. 💚
