There are more mohair scarves to be made, but as Christmas only being three months away, I really have to stock up my shop with tea towels. That's where the Cottolin yarn comes into place. First lot of tea towels has been put on the loom, ready to weave. Aim is to make as many tea towels as possible in as many colours as possible and use up the massive amount of yarn I have.... Off we go! Happy weaving 😁

Bronson lace runner is finished! Woven and tested for the weaving correspondence course. It's in organic linen 16/2 from Venne. The yarn is available at BB Yarn Supply www.bbyarn.com

Update on Rossignol (short Ross) our brush turkey: he is still guarding his huge nest. Doesn't seem to scratch and extend the heap any longer. There are also no more females visiting. The incubation time for these turkeys is around 50 days, which if our calculation is correct leads us to the end of this month. The waiting game is on for Ross and us 😆.

Weaving the antique rose coloured kid mohair scarves!
You can see it is quite a slow weave, but at the same time it's fast because it's only 4 picks per centimetre. I try not to move the be**er too much to avoid friction. And because it is a loose weave and two sided I have to be very careful to hold the be**er nicely in the middle of the weave.

Every one of these mohair scarves get hemstitched on the loom beginning and end. And I also knot the scarves once they are off the loom. Not only gives this process a nice finish, I also want to make sure the edges don't open in any way with this slippery yarn.
Making the hemstitch on the loom is sort of therapeutic 😌
I'm now on my last scarf in the antique rose....

Finally back at the loom! 😁 Finished two mohair scarves in antique rose, cut it off to reset the tension and retied for another two scarves. Each scarf is slightly different in the weft colour. And oh so soft 🫠😌

What's your favourite weaving book right now? Mine is "Janna" at the moment. There is so much interesting ideas in that ...

What's your favourite weaving book right now? Mine is "Janna" at the moment. There is so much interesting ideas in that book. It really inspires me! Can you see how many tags are sticking out of it? But there are many great weaving books out there, my favourite book could change every day 😀.

Yes we had another bushfire in our area. The last 7 days have been very busy helping in the station, cooking, making snack packs, organising more food, filling up fridges with cold drinks and assisting wherever possible. Exhausting, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Fire is contained today with patrolling twice a day. But the fire season has only just started.
At the moment, I'm home, resting and trying to catch up on everything else...... Hopefully more weaving soon 😁
