We have this amazing piece in the gallery currently, along side many other beautiful pieces of artwork by Vyvyan Bloomfield! We are open 9am to 3pm, Wednesday to Sunday in Edward Street Kalbar, down from the wash works! Kalbar is a beautiful town, it is a gorgeous drive out in the countryside. Come visit, you won’t be sorry!

🎨 The Story Behind the Canvas…

If Whispering Walls could talk, they would tell you stories of well-worn tools, old tyres, stacked hay, a watchful feral cat… and a little girl named Vyvyan.

She made good use of her father’s tools, convinced she was a carpenter. With dirt under her fingernails and imagination running wild, she created Papier-Mache masterpieces, drew animals, and designed dresses for cardboard dolls.

Those recycled timber and corrugated iron walls witnessed her dancing across worn wooden floorboards with abandon and singing gloriously out of tune on a stage of hay, while a hidden, wide-eyed cat looked on in wonder.

It was there that my creative journey began … a journey filled with curiosity, colour, stories and imagination.

Every painting I create is accompanied by a few words from the heart. For Whispering Walls, they are….

Whispering Walls

If I could talk to you
I’d tell you tales of toil
Of creatures, country
And all I’ve watched unfold.

Whispering Walls is currently on display as part of my exhibition at The Kalbar Gallery, where the collection will remain on show for the next couple of weeks. If you’re in the area, I hope you’ll take the opportunity to visit.
