Happy birthday, Adam Liaw! (1978)

Liaw won the second season of "Masterchef" and went on to writing and hosting his TV shows, and of course recipe books. In 2016 the Japanese government appointed Liaw as an official Goodwill Ambassador for Japanese Cuisine. "The Zen Kitchen" has recipes framed in stories to illustrate the Japanese approach to food.

Happy birthday, Jennifer Egan! (1962)
Egan is an American novelist and short-story author. Her novel," A Visit from the Goon Squad", won many awards including the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. This novel has an unusual "polyphony" format - have you read it? What did you think?

Our volunteer Deb recommends this interesting book she found on our SHORT STORIES shelf - five hundred short stories of 100 words each. Stories to make you laugh or make you think which take only a moment to read. Such an interesting concept. Thanks Deb!

We appreciate all donations of books to our shop. Every lovely book helps make our shop such a treasure that people keep coming back to browse our shelves. Every book sold contributes to the many Kapunda community projects, groups, and events that receive bursaries. Thank you all ❤
Recently we received a wonderful collection of the ever popular Colin Thiele, and Enid Blyton books. So many wonderful books that have already seen a frenzy of customers. Today marks the 20th anniversary of Colin Thiele's death. We feel certain he would be very pleased to know his books are still so much in demand here in Kapunda.
