Over the years we've collected some serious pieces of gear - this is EMI's *Green Machine*

The “Green Machine” tape machines are the stuff of legend. The British Tape Recorder was developed by ex-RAF mechanics working for EMI immediately after World War II, which is probably why they look more like the inside of a fighter plane than your average piece of studio equipment.

Despite their patriotic nomenclature, the BTRs were actually reverse engineered from capture German-made Magnetophon tape machines, whose playback quality was so vastly superior to anything the Allies were capable of during the war that it confounded attempts to track the Fuhrer because he could appear to be broadcasting live speeches from any city in the Reich at any given moment.

CD & DVD Production Line Operator

Producing local Australia music and DVD's of all kinds of movies.

If you're interested in CD/DVD production, develop and expand machine operation skills, get involved in Melbourne manufacturing with Australian made products or simply looking to get your foot in the door, we are looking for you!

Located in Derrimut 3026 it's ideal for anyone located on the inner and North West of Melbourne. 

All you need is:
A high energy level and be able to work in a busy factory environment.
A technical orientation, which can include operation or maintaining of production line machinery.
Be prepared to work shifts as required on evenings.

Minimum 2 Years Full Time work. 

Hourly rate up to $22.00 hr + super with shift loading on night shifts.

The Role:
With resurgence of traditional music media, DEX is looking to expand its production team and move towards a retro future! As the CD DVD line operator you will be operating the Pfeiffer, & Singulus moulding lines and collaborate with printing and packing teams to produce high quality and retail ready CD/DVDs made in Australia.

We’re looking for an individual that wants to be involved and support manufacturing in Australia, work with an amazing team in a busy environment and with a passion for CD/ DVD releases.

The ideal candidate:
- A good energy level that thrives in a busy and collaborative environment
- An interest in machine operations and maintenance.
- Attention to detail.
- Prosper in shift/roster work hours 8 hours per day 5 days a week or 12 hours per day 4 days a week - more time put in the work can allow for more time for yourself
- Ready to tackle day-to day trouble shooting
- Willingness to develop and learn new skills
- 2 years of full time experience and or looking to have a more stable role

With patient and supportive production managers everything can be learned on the job.

We’re looking for an individual that wants to be involved and support manufacturing in Australia, work with an amazing team in a busy environment and with a passion for CD/ DVD releases.

The prime responsibility of the CD & DVD production line operator is to operate compact disc moulding and finishing machinery. This is a responsible position working in a factory environment. It requires an ability to understand and work within production procedures and to operate process machinery.
