You know that image that reminds you on why you started something? Erasing all the hardship, challenges and negative feelings. Just you and your passion in that moment.
This tank at the studio reminds me of it.
The plants and fishes are settling into the space and the contrast between the deep shadows, colour hues gets better each time.

One of my favourite things about this aquarium is how different it looks depending on where you’re standing. From a distance it reads as one big composition, but up close there are all these smaller little pockets and details hidden throughout the hardscape.

Do you all have that something that reminds you why you started?

Frame your Art

Mitered edges. Floating glass. Uninterrupted perspective.

Because when the glass disappears, the art takes over.

Introducing a new standard in aquarium design.

Carpeting plants that don’t need injected CO₂… but that’s not the interesting part.

One isn’t actually grass.
One can change colour.
One became a Japanese aquascaping icon despite being native to Australia.
And one is secretly a fern pretending to be clover. 🍀

Aquarium plants get a lot more interesting once you look past the care sheet.

Which one surprised you most?

Most aquariums are alive.

Very few feel alive.

There’s a difference between filling a glass box and creating a world worth staring at.

Create something alive.

When the gravel finally gets wet. 👀

Colour, texture and character can change completely once submerged — which is why choosing substrate from a dry sample never tells the full story.

A little look at some of the gravels we’ve hand-picked for the collection at School of Scape.

Picked with passion. Chosen for the scape.

Which one are you using? 👇

Here at School of Scape, each and every sand was carefully selected, from Japanese gardens to the Australian outback.

• Colour.

• Texture.

• Contrast.

Every decision changes the final scape.

Which School of Scape sand would you pick?

Not all mist is created equal.

Designed for control, not chaos —
the Lumina Mist Fogger Kit brings atmosphere into the scape, exactly where it belongs.

Low. Grounded. Intentional.

Because in aquascaping, every detail matters.

The Mountain stone is fairly new in the hobby and is quite possibly one of the nicest stones to work with due to its solid structure, intricate form and neutral tones.

The rough, porous surface also contributes to healthy bacteria culturing in the right conditions and epiphytic plants to root on.

Is there a hardscape you are curious about and would like to try?
