abc Pianos are a family owned and operated business run by Eddie & Mandy Tichelaar. They have been supplying quality upright and grand pianos to customers that include Students, Teachers, Music Schools and Professional Pianists this also includes clients such as the Hospitality Industry to the Entertainment, Recording and Film Industry including Interstate and
Overseas Artists since 1977. Eddie’s career in the piano industry began at the very early as he assisted his father regularly within the piano business. Eddie has a vast knowledge of pianos and has learnt the technical side of pianos from many qualified tuner/technicians within the industry over the years, as well as courses at the Preston College of TAFE piano technology department with Wayne Stuart. Many Courses with the Piano Tuners and Technicians Guild of Victoria and Piano Tuner and Technician conventions and lectures around Australia. Eddie has attended the Samick piano factories in South Korea and Indonesia over a number of years and assisted with the design and technology of numerous Alex Steinbach and Samick pianos. Mandy studied music from a very early age and is a gifted woodwind player with piano as her second instrument. She began her teaching career at the Dandenong Ranges Music Council at the age of 15, running a teenage woodwind group. Mandy also played in various groups and gave solo performances. Her business career began in an accounts department of a large international company where she learnt the finer points of business management before joining abc Pianos in 1993. Eddie & Mandy carefully select and prepare all the pianos they have on display and invite you to visit their showroom. You will receive professional friendly advice and they will be more than happy to help you find a piano that suits your needs and/or dreams.
